Seamless expansion

Provides direct-attach storage at a fraction of the cost of high-end SAN or NAS solutions. Seamlessly integrates with Acer Altos servers, the Altos S140 DAS is a perfect companion that expands usable storage.



Expandable

The Altos S140 DAS attaches directly to a SAS switch or a SAS RAID card with external SAS ports. It adds RAID volumes that can be managed locally from a single server, or from two servers that share access. Up to four DAS enclosures can be attached in series, providing support for almost 100 hard drives through a single connection.
Flexible

The Altos S140 supports high-performance 15 K rpm SAS drives, or low-power, high-capacity drives with up to 4 TB per drive -- up to 48 TB in a single enclosure. The DAS also supports both hard disk drives and solid state drives in the same chassis, so you can mix RAID groups or benefit from SSD caching.




Efficient

The Altos S140 DAS provides additional storage without the need for an independent system. Systems with large data requirements can enjoy immense cost savings -- not just in hardware, but also over the lifetime of the system.
Reliable

The Altos S140 features redundant 80 PLUS® power supplies to protect the system from data loss. To provide a high availability DAS solution, dual-path models can be configured in failover clusters.
